@thinkingserious I really think its not a good idea to have this range feature enabled as it basically makes builds unpredictable by downloading any version from the range which should really be avoided. Also, I tested it a bit and it downloads snapshot versions as well, not a big issue but I doubt its needed. I would however update the jackson version anyway as there is 2.9 already. What do you think?

It might be fine to use it for one minor version range though like [2.5.0, 2.6).
