Verified Student (PRO badge active) but Copilot stuck on Free plan

Hi everyone,

I have been verified for the GitHub Student Developer Pack , and my profile correctly displays the PRO badge. I have also set my academic email as my Primary email address.I have been verified for the Student Developer Pack , and my profile correctly displays the PRO badge.

Despite this, my Copilot settings and Chat still show me on the 'Copilot Free' tier rather than the Student tier.
I have already updated my academic email to be my Primary address and have logged out/in, but the status has not updated
I understand there is a current pause on new activations, but since my account is already showing the PRO status, I wanted to confirm if my Copilot activation is in the queue or if there is a sync error I need to resolve.

Your Copilot access is most likely in the activation queue, not broken.
Since your Student Pack is verified, you just need to wait for the backend sync to complete.

This is a known situation right now and usually not an error on your side.

Even though your GitHub Student Developer Pack shows as verified (PRO badge), access to GitHub Copilot does not activate instantly.
