For many of my users, copying an internal URL or checking the sharing status of a directory is part of their daily workflow.
Currently, when viewing the contents of a directory in the Files app, there is no way to open the Details sidebar for that very directory.
The only workaround is to navigate one level up, locate the folder again, open the three-dots menu, and click "Details" — which is inconvenient and unintuitive.
💡 Proposed Solution
There are several ways to make the Details sidebar more accessible from within a directory:
⭐⭐⭐ Add a right-click context menu to the breadcrumb element, including actions like "Copy internal link" and "Open Details".
⭐⭐ Show the current folder name above the file list, directly beneath the breadcrumb navigation, and attach a right-click menu with sharing/actions.
⭐⭐ Add a clickable icon in the top-right corner to open the (currently hidden) sidebar — similar to the existing left sidebar toggle (burger menu + arrow).
⭐ Add a "Details sidebar" icon next to the current "List view / Tile view" toggle buttons.
🖼️ Additional Context
These improvements would streamline a daily-use workflow and make Nextcloud more user-friendly, especially for less technical users.
If helpful, I can provide UI sketches or walk through example use cases.
