New to this: Does it support GFM?

I'm looking for mature/solid lightweight textarea replacement markdown WYSIWYG toolbars like this one but was wondering first, does it support GitHub Flavored markdown and buttons for all GFM supports? I do see it appears to be missing tables.

Also, are there plans to enhance the Link/Image buttons with a dialog box with browse buttons/drag and drop as well?

Hi there. GFM is not currently supported, TinyMDE supports Commonmark.

Specifically, GFM adds the following over Commonmark:

• Task list items: This has been requested before and would be reasonably easy to add
• Strikethrough: This would be trivial to add
• Autolinks: Formatting autolinks like they are links would be relatively easy. TinyMDE does not currently have any functionality that makes links actually "work" (eg. [Link](https://www.google.com) formats the URL like a link but it's not clickable).
• Tables: This is the one you called out in your post, and it's the trickiest. The way TinyMDE works is that it always shows the whole markup (eg. the * or # characters) and then formats the contained text accordingly. I don't really know how I would do that with tables, so I don't foresee building support for that.

If the other items help without table support, I can certainly add those.

As close to GFM as humanly possible would be awesome. I'm wanting to add it to things that for the most part only use GFM, such as Forgejo, Gitea, etc.

I have no idea as I've never looked into it myself, but I see there are a ton of various js markdown editors, though most don't directly replace textarea, that do have tables in them, including some that format it the way you described, is there some way to look into their source and see how they did it?

everything but tables is now supported in v0.2.29. I looked into a bunch of other markdown editors that work similarly, and could not find any that support tables. the parsing is not the problem, but the display is.

I have seen tables in a few, but I think those are codemirror-based and I assume they use some sort of their own container to do their magic in, so maybe that's why it's harder to do in a textarea? (I don't know anything about this stuff).

hola. Is there an example where all the new buttons are added to the toolbar for the new stuff? I'd like to add all buttons, incl. the new stuff like task list, as the default toolbar.
