Failed to install in Zend Studio

Since Zend Studio is based on Eclipse, I tried to give this plugin a spin but it failed miserably.

When installing through the "Install New Software" menu, I get the following dependency error:

Missing requirement: Eclipse Multiple Cursor Support 0.1.1 (com.asparck.eclipse.multicursor.plugin 0.1.1) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench.swt 0.12.1' but it could not be found

Perhaps bundle it with the plugin?

I downloaded Zend Studio 10.6.1 and had a look around. It looks like they're still shipping code based on Eclipse 3.8, which is two years old by now.

The simple fix of bundling the requirement (org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench) with the plugin wouldn't help anyone unfortunately; it's (I believe) a fundamental part of Eclipse 4, so it'd be like copy pasting a bit of Windows Vista into Windows XP: you might eventually get it to work by copying a whole bunch of other things, but it'd be a huge hassle and you'd run the risk of breaking a bunch of other things.

Instead, the fix here will be targeting 3.8 if it's feasible, or everyone asking Zend to update their Studio to be based on Eclipse 4.

I'm not sure whether the former option is feasible (i.e. use 3.8 APIs instead of 4.2 APIs) for me; I'll take a closer look tomorrow.

All sorted; the newly cut 0.1.2 release successfully installs into Zend Studio 10.6.1.
