Update installation and testing instructions

I'm trying to follow the installation and testing instructions here:
https://www.transcrypt.org/docs/html/installation_use.html#installation

The instructions say to open:
localhost:8000/animals.html

but I think it should be:
localhost:8000/autoTest.html

I see a reference to animals.html in issue #498. I'm assuming that this was the correct way to do it in older versions, but that the documentation has not been updated yet for the current version.

I am using Windows 10 and installing using pip.

I see now that there is a file run.bat in the folder
C:\code\t1\env\Lib\site-packages\transcrypt\development\automated_tests\transcrypt

It's similar to the instructions but it has more command-line options. I assume these options are needed to make the tests run.

It's working for me now.

Here are the scripts I used to install it using PIP and using the ZIP file. These are fairly ugly scripts, but I hope you don't mind if I upload them here so I have them the next time I need to install and test Transcrypt on Windows 10.

The issue tracker won't let me upload them with .BAT extensions, so I renamed them as .BAT.TXT instead.

Here are my files for installing and testing Transcrypt on Linux, using pip or the zip archive. I'm not experienced in all the technologies that are used here, so having a script gives me enough detail so that I can install it and validate the installation.

These are not polished scripts. I hope you don't mind if I post these here so I can access them again when I need to install Transcrypt on Linux again.

@aps9, thanks for sharing, it's certainly easier and faster to use scripts than to try and remember everything.

In the 'ugly but it works category', i use this on windows to give a dev server some time to start:

start cmd /k "timeout 10 & start /MAX path_to_browser.exe http://127.0.0.1 & exit"
python -m http.server

With bash one could use something like this:

(sleep 3 && path_to_browser http://127.0.0.1)&
python -m http.server

I too am trying to get started and got confused with the content of https://www.transcrypt.org/docs/html/installation_use.html#installation and specifically the tests.

According to the scripts in this github issue, one should run

transcrypt -r -xr -n -b -da -xg -c -sf autotest
transcrypt -xr -n -b -da -xg -c -sf autotest

However the documentation linked above say the following.

transcrypt -b -c -da autotest
transcrypt -r -c autotest

One would assume the documentation is right, but it saysanimals.html which is outdated, so what?

Moreover, what is one supposed to see? I see an empty table with the following header, does it mean all the tests are successful, or does it mean I ran none of them?

Notice the different order of "location and value" between CPython and Transcrypt

In fact, using the longer list of flags (the first that I quoted above), the HTML table is not empty but contains a bunch of rows with "Errors=0" and at the top the Status is not empty either but it reassuringly says Status: Test succeeded.

PS: thanks for maintaining such a project, it seemss very well thought and I am looking forward to trying it!
