1. Print the Mute button from: PubInv\general-alarm-device\Hardware\Enclosure\U_Box_V104_General_Alarm_Device_button.stl
2. Print the Encoder knob from: PubInv\krake\enclosure\parts_toPrint\knob_Dshaft_15mmx6mmv1.3.stl
3. Install on Krake PWA.

You will want to know about this. Do not print the Rotary Encoder Knob till we address this problem.

History, the Mute button was designed for and worked with the GPAD (General Purpose Alarm Device)
For the Krake we added the rotary encoder and found a knob on line (Probably GrabCAD, there may be notes somewhere. in the PCB design files.) We do not have the design files for this.
Could you make an OpenScad file (or FreeCAD) for this part. Import the STL. Then cut away some of the edge till there is no interference with the Mute button skirt?

yes I can start working on make the cad model for Rotary Encoder on FreeCAD and export the stl file.

Will it clear the Mute key cap?

I wrote, "Then cut away some of the edge till there is no interference with the Mute button skirt?"
Did you make it smaller and if so by how much and how did you determine how much.

When I measure the part made from the original STL I get a diameter of 19.6 or so.

No i didn't change it's Dimensions, it has the same as the stl file but can be modified in the freecad file.

the Total diameter in the Design is 20mm and the skirt Dimension is 2.8mm.

i can change it to 2mm

OR Reduce the total diameter to 16mm

The skirt can be 2 mm
We need .5 to achieve clearance between the mute button knob and the rotary encoder knob.

can you export an STL?
and add it to: /Repos/krake/enclosure/parts_toPrint
Also, create a PR.

Status

I have not tried to guess what dimension of change would work.
My perspective: Ideally from the enclosure file the XY location of the Mute switch and the diameter of the Mute Key Cap could be used to find the diameter at which the Encoder knob skirt would just touch and then a dimension smaller than that would be applied.
The skirt shoujld not be zero and should have a minimum so that the encoder knob can not be pulled off the shaft through the enclosure hole.
Can you please make a change to eliminate the interference.
I hope to print some parts today to test the result.

Why I ask this way....

I want to be in the role of advising and setting requirements and allow the volunteers to have ownership of the design.

I try to write my Issues (bug reports) where I specify the problem and I do NOT specify the solution so as to give the engineer flexibility of choice.

By the way, Nice file.
It is interesting to see how you composed the elements.

Okay I have changed the skirt to 2mm and export the STL file to enclosure/parts_toPrint/knob_Dshaft_15mmx6mmv1.3.stl

I have a print in process with about 1 hour to go before I can try the knob_Dshaft_15mmx6mmv1.3.stl file.
I will post results here.

The part works with adequate clearance.
