timeline-labeled works, timeline does not

Please verify that this is not user error and that timeline is broken in Obsidian 1.3.7.

Expected behavior:
A front matter with timeline will create a timeline as shown in the plugin readme.

Observed behavior:
Even with all plugins disabled, inserting a timeline will display a blank page in both editing and reading views which is locked and cannot be edited further. The only workaround is to delete the file and start over.

The timeline-labeled front matter does not seem affected.

It does not work for me though, both timeline-labeled and timeline. I copied the sample scripts in the readme.
