While the intention of findObject was to help developers, it is leaking many implementation details that the client/caller should not be aware of. The removal of this method has been discussed with Jeanette (Metadig - does not use this method) and Jing (Metacat - only used in test classes), and we are to proceed.
We will work together to find alternate solutions should Metadig/Metacat need any of the current findObject return values.
