Adding the advanced proxy was a mistake, and most of the time it isn't "advanced" enough for people using it.

There needs to be a new solution.

Why? This was great

The new basic proxy doesn't work with Apollo at all, and the advanced config is way more complicated

The advanced configuration is very simple if you're using it like the old advanced proxy. Please see the migration guide, it should be a copy and paste.
